What is the Body Ready Method?

BRM® takes a proactive, prehab approach to prime your body and mind for birth and recovery. Body Ready Birth is for intentionally training your pelvis and body for your best possible birth. We teach you specific movements that create optimal space during birth for a safer and more efficient experience. It educates you and your partner about birth positions, how to know when to do what, and how to make the process easier.

What is a Birth Doula?

A doula is a non-medical support person who provides educational, emotional, and physical support throughout the journey from fertility through pregnancy to labor and early parenthood.

A doula will work alongside your current support network, ensuring all members feel supported and empowered in their choices.

Research around birth doulas has found that having a doula present results in a 15% increase in the likelihood of a spontaneous vaginal birth, a 39% decrease in the risk of caesarean, a 10% decrease in the use of pharmaceutical pain relief, a shorter labour by 41 minutes on average, and a 31% decrease in the risk of being dissatisfied with the birth experience.

What is Hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing is a powerful course that empowers expectant parents to become confident and calm as they approach birth. The education and tools help them to have the best possible birth for them. Hypnobirthing allows women to feel calmer and helps them feel more in control and ultimately have a positive birth experience.

What is a Postnatal Doula?

A post natal doula is a non medical person who will provide physical, emotional and educational support along with household assistance.

They will assist in the physical and emotional recovery from birth, facilitate family adjustment and ensure the entire family unit is nurtured in the early post partum days.

A postnatal doula will not take over, but assist in learning to care for new baby, and in family adjustment

How much does a doula cost?

Doula prices vary based on geographical location, experience and qualifications of the doula, and also the level of support required.
A birth doula will be approx. €800 – €3000 depending on package chosen
A postnatal doula will be approx. €30-€45 per hour depending on package chosen
Most doulas have payment plans available and are also open to having a discussion around pricing.

Is hypnobirthing a form of hypnosis?

Hypnobirthing is completely different from the entertainment form of stage hypnosis. Hypnobirthing focuses on relaxation, deep breathing, and positive affirmations to promote a calm, confident, and empowered birthing experience.

‘Vicki was our birth doula, the information we gained from our antenatal meetings was invaluable. My partner loved having someone demonstrate comfort measures, and give him practical tips to help me in labour’

Gemma

‘We had the good fortune of someone gifting us some postnatal support hours. They were just the best thing ever. We felt so lucky to have the extra pair of hands around the house, or to be able to grab a nap and not have to worry about baby. The best baby present ever!’

H & P

‘I did a pregnancy relaxation class with Vicki, and I actually floated out the place after it. I’m signed up for another, and really looking forward to it’
